Scan & Paint Sound Source Localization System

  • Visualize Sound Intensity, Particle Velocity, and Pressure
  • Camera Tracks Probe Position
  • Simple, Fast Operation
  • Based on Particle Velocity Sensor

The Scan & Paint system is based on Microflown's unique P-U probe which measures particle velocity and sound pressure. A video camera tracks the position of the probe as the user scans the measurement surface. The result is a color map of sound intensity, particle velocity, or sound pressure. FFT and 1/3 octave spectra can be computed for selectable points or the whole surface. Filters may be adjusted to show selected frequency content on the color map.
